Winter Fun at Lansing’s Woldumar Nature Center January 24
January 24th is going to be a busy day at Lansing’s Woldumar Nature Center! All day and all evening, there will be lots of fun activities happening there.
11:00 AM through 4:00 PM will be all about family fun with Woldumar’s Family Snow School event. Throughout the day, attendees will have the chance to learn about winter survival, snowshoeing, winter weather, owl and bird identification, and more. Following the event, families will have the option to stay for a chili dinner for an additional $5. This event is a fundraiser for Woldumar’s new Snow School, which will teach children about nature and scientific principles. Family Snow School is open to ages 8 and up and all children must be accompanied by at least one adult. If you are interested in attending, you can register online. Admission is free to all Woldumar Nature Center members and $10 for non-members.
For adults age 21 and up, Woldumar will be hosting a barn dance from 4:00 PM through 10:00 PM featuring beer from the Eaglemonk Brewery and live music by The Banjo Tramps and The Lansing Unionized Vaudeville Spectacle. Tickets are $25 and are available through Woldumar’s website. The price of admission gets you a chili dinner from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM (vegetarian options available), live music, 3 drink tokens, and a chance to bid in the silent auction. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in optional events such as sleigh rides and an owl prowl hike. Sleigh rides are $10 per person and if you are interested in taking one, you must reserve a time slot in advance. The owl prowl hike is an additional $5 and starts at 5:30 PM. The barn dance is a fundraiser to support Woldumar’s mission to educate people about the environment.
