Things to Do at the Howell Opera House

Contrary to its name, the Howell Opera House isn’t just a place for opera performances. The Howell Opera House has been a fixture of the downtown Howell area since 1881 and over the years, people such as Henry Ford and presidential candidate William Jennings Bryan have made appearances at the theater. Currently, it is owned by the Livingston Arts Council and is home to many live musical performances and other fun events.

Learn to Dance

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced dancer, you’re welcome to bring your dancing shoes over to the Howell Opera House. There is a swing dancing club that meets there on the second and last Tuesday of every month from 7:30-11:00 PM. Admission is just $2 and there’s no need to register in advance. If ballroom dancing is more your style, there are ballroom dancing classes every Tuesday from 5:30-7:15 PM. Ballroom dancing classes are $10 at the door.

Want to create a painting of your own? Sign up for one of their Paint Along classes on March 9th.
