Planning Your Holiday Celebrations in Plymouth

A new home means a new place to celebrate the holiday season and make new memories you and your family will cherish for years to come. We’re sure you have plenty of traditions you like to do with your family at home, but is there anything in particular you like to get out in the community to do together? Lots of cities organize events and celebrations around this time of year so residents can come out and have fun together during the holiday season.

If you don’t have any favorite community celebrations you like to attend every year, maybe you could discover something new to do. If you live in HomeFirst™’s Plymouth Hills community, you’ll have lots of chances to do just that!

Our Plymouth Hills community is located very close to quaint downtown Plymouth, which is an ideal place to spend the holiday season. The downtown Plymouth area is full of amazing small businesses, so you’ll have lots of great places to find the perfect gifts for your loved ones. They city of Plymouth has an annual Christmas in Plymouth event where residents can come out, admire the city’s holiday decorations, listen to some live music, take a horse and carriage tour, and check out the special deals some of the local stores and restaurants have going on.

While you’re out and about, perhaps you and your family could stop by Kellogg Park to check out the annual Walk of Trees event. Every year, local businesses, organizations, and families decorate trees that are placed in the park. These trees are lit 24-hours a day between the Saturday after Thanksgiving through New Year’s, so you’re welcome to drop by at your convenience and there’s no cost to come out and admire these spectacular trees. Maybe you and your family would even like to decorate a tree yourselves!

Can’t get enough Christmas movies? Be sure to keep an eye on the schedule for the Penn Theater! They typically show lots of Christmas classics during the holiday season like It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, Elf, The Polar Express, and more. Tickets to movies at the Penn are just $3 each, so it’s the kind of place where you can easily bring the whole family for a fun outing without breaking the bank.
