Keeping Your New Year’s Resolutions


As we head into our first weekend of the new year, you are probably still on track for your New Year’s Resolutions. But settling into your usual routines and busy schedules can quickly derail you. So whether you want to lose weight, quit smoking or keep organized, we have some tips to make sure you succeed this year.


1. Make it attainable.


What steps do you need to take to reach your goal? Are they realistic? If not, you could be setting yourself up to fail before you start. Making a resolution attainable will help you succeed and get you closer to that next level of where you want to be.


2. Tell someone.


When others are aware of your resolutions and goals it helps to hold you accountable. Telling a close friend or family helps to push you forward with support.


3. Start small.


Small goals can help get you to a big one. If your goal is to exercise more start by scheduling 20 minutes into your day, and then add more time from there. If you want to organize your house, start with one room each month.


4. Write it down, and track your progress.


Physically seeing that you are on track can help keep you going in the right direction. A small note pad that you keep close by can be helpful or you can find many different goal setting and tracking tools online.
