Keep Your Manufactured Home Clean While Owning a Pet
As a dog owner, it can be tough to find an apartment complex or even a house to rent because of the stipulations against pets, specifically dogs. At HomeFirst™, it’s a different story because we welcome all kinds of pets to move in with you. Although our communities are pet friendly, we understand that you want you to keep your manufactured home as clean as possible, and that can be done in many different ways. Pets can be the most wonderful creatures, but they can also leave the biggest messes. Let’s take a look at all the different ways possible to keep your manufactured home clean so, when guests visit it will seem like there isn’t a pet living with you at all.
You vs. Dog Hair
The biggest challenge to keeping your manufactured home clean is containing the hair that your dog or cat sheds at all time. It’s important to realize that although most dogs and most cats shed, different ones shed at different times. If you own a Siberian Husky or an Akita you may have more work to do than others because these dogs are known to have two coats of hair which can leave huge hairballs laying in and around. One way to contain these hairballs is by brushing your dog’s hair on a weekly or even daily basis. When you brush their hair, try to do it outside as the hair can be whisked away by the wind instead of accumulating inside your manufactured home. If your dog’s hair is uncontrollable, don’t panic because daily use of a Swiffer or a vacuum cleaner will eliminate any unwanted hair that’s around your house.
Eliminate That Pet Odor
You know when walking into anybody’s house if they have a pet roaming around or not, because of the distinct odor that they give off. Some may suggest it smells bad, but it can be eliminated with a few sneaky tactics. Depending on what the weather is like, try to keep a window open or two inside your home to keep the air circulating and it wouldn’t hurt to keep a few cans of air freshener around the house. There are automatic air fresheners out there that will enhance the smell of any room in minutes. Set the timer for the air freshener to go off every so often, and you won’t have to worry about grabbing the air freshener every hour to keep the pet odor out of your house.
A few simple steps is all it takes to keep your home as fresh as it was the day you moved in! Purchase a manufactured home in a HomeFirst™ community and you and your pets will have a wonderful place to call home for years to come!
