Keep the Winter Blahs Away With These 5 Activities

Living in the Springrove community puts you at the center of so many fun activities and events within the Holly and Davisburg area that you will never be bored! Upcoming events include the 1st Annual Holly Police Department Winterfest, Friday Night Flicks at the Highland Township Public Library, a performance of A Few Good Men by the Clarkston Village Players, The George Washington Club Banquet, Reach for Your Dreams Fashion Show, and too many others to list.

First Annual Holly Police Department Winterfest

This winter festival is held on February 15th at Bush Lake just off of Lake Side Park. Starting at 9:00 a.m. people are given the opportunity to participate in a fishing derby (you could even win $1,000 if you catch the tagged fish), play ice golf, and enter a snow snake throw contest – all while enjoying free hot chocolate, coffee, hot dogs, chili, and marshmallows. The Holly Police Department certainly knows how to throw a party!

The George Washington Club Banquet

Even if history is not something you’re interested in, you have probably still heard about George Washington and can appreciate all that he did for the United States. As the oldest continuously running George Washington Club in North America, The George Washington Club is dedicated to honoring the history of George Washington and will be holding their annual banquet at noon on February 19th to commemorate his birthday.

Reach For Your Dreams Fashion Show

Benefitting homeless and at-risk teens, the Reach for Your Dreams Fashion Show is hosted by Morgan’s Boutique with all proceeds going to REACH & Traverse Place. On February 21st you can shop, win door prizes and get free fashion advice – all while helping kids and teens in your area.

Friday Night Flicks

Enjoy a newly released movie at the Highland Township Public Library on February 27th! At 6:30 p.m., after the library’s regular business hours are over, a movie will be played for an adults-only crowd. For an inexpensive, fun date-night, head on over to your local library.

Performance of A Few Good Men

Many of us have seen the movie – now we have the opportunity to see A Few Good Men on stage. The Clarkston Village Players are bringing this Broadway hit to the Clarkston community in March, and tickets are selling quickly. Don’t miss out!

The towns of Davisburg and Holly are dedicated to providing the people in their communities’ fun, interesting activities. With events that benefit local charities and organizations, helping others is as easy as buying a ticket.
