How HomeFirst Gives Back to the Community

We love our manufactured homes – and we hope you do too! – but without the communities and cities that we call home, we wouldn’t be where we are today. So whenever we can, HomeFirst™ looks for opportunities to help our communities and the people that reside in them through charity work and special housing programs for civil servants.

Take our Home Town Heroes program, for example. We know how hard it is for military personnel to find a place to live while they’re still enlisted. In order to make it easier on our men and women in uniform to have a place to call home, whether they’re active duty or a veteran, the Home Town Heroes program offers $50 off your monthly site-rent bill for the first 12 months of residence. No matter if you’re active-duty soldier who needs a place of their own or a veteran looking for a quiet place to spend your retirement years, HomeFirst™ is here to help financially.

Better yet, our program extends to more than just military personnel. We depend on our police officers and firefighters to keep our streets and homes safe, and we know their duties carry a unique set of challenges in both their professional and personal lives. To help relieve some of the burden, our Home Town Heroes program extends to active police officers and firefighters as well.

And where would America be without its medical professionals to keep us healthy and our teachers to train and inspire future generations? Doctors, teachers, and nurses also qualify for the $50 discount on site rent just like military personnel, police, and firefighters. It’s our little way of saying thanks to the men and women of these professions for all that they do.

But HomeFirst™ supports the people of our communities with more than just housing programs. Since January 2014, HomeFirst™ has contributed financially to the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Michigan by accepting donations from both our residents and anyone willing to make a contribution, even if they don’t live in a HomeFirst™ community. The Make-A-Wish® Foundation seeks to provide one child with a life-threatening medical condition with the fulfillment of whatever their greatest wish may be, whether it’s a trip to Disneyland or spending a day as a police officer. By continuously raising funds, we hope to grant at least one wish per year.

Whether we’re helping our soldiers and police officers find a place to live, or helping to change the lives of kids in our Michigan communities, we hope to make our communities a better place through our programs.
