Have Your Choice of Schools in Jackson
When you have children to think of, one of the most important things you can look for in a new home is whether or not it’s close to good schools. If living in a good school district is one of your top priorities, look no further than HomeFirst™’s Walnut Ridge or English Meadows manufactured housing communities!
Walnut Ridge and English Meadows are both located to two noteworthy school districts, Jackson Public Schools and Northwest Community Schools. This way, you’ll have the chance to look at what each school has to offer and decide which one is the best fit for your child.
At Northwest Community Schools, your children will have the benefit of going to school where the buildings have recently undergone a series of upgrades. In May 2013, Jackson residents voted to approve a $40 million bond to improve Northwest Community Schools by constructing a brand new building for the elementary school, a larger cafeteria and an auxiliary gym for the high school, and making improvements to roofing, boilers, and electrical systems at all buildings in the district.
Northwest Community Schools are under the leadership of superintendent Geoff Bontrager, who was recently given a perfect score during an annual evaluation by the board of education. Students of Northwest High School also have ample opportunities to participate in student activities and extracurricular activities like an excellent music program, many athletic teams, National Honor Society, and more. They have also been recognized for their outstanding journalism and broadcasting program.
Northwest High School also has a reputation for their excellence in AP classes. Just recently, Northwest High School was one of 15 Michigan schools and one of 425 schools in the U.S. and Canada to be included on the AP District Honor Roll. This means they were able to increase the number of their students taking advanced placement classes while maintaining the percentage of students earning 3 or higher on their AP exams!
At Jackson Public Schools, students also have a multitude of teams to potentially join, both athletic and academic. When students from Jackson High School and Jackson Middle School East went to Knoxville, TN to participate in the Academic Games League of America National Tournament in 2014, they brought home a multitude of trophies, both for individual achievements and as a team. During that tournament, the team ranked third nationwide with all competitions combined.
For young musicians, Jackson Schools have a renowned music program. The Jackson High School marching band has performed at the Outback Bowl multiple times and their choir program is very active in using their talents to reach out to the local community.
It’s hard enough to find a home close to one nice school district. Finding an extremely affordable home in an area where you’ll have your choice of two school districts is rare, but that’s just what you’ll get at either English Meadows or Walnut Ridge. Take a look at some of the manufactured homes available in these fine communities.
