Find Your Path in Life at Holly Area Schools

When you live in HomeFirst™’s Springrove community, you’ll be right in the neighborhood of historic Holly, Michigan. Holly, Michigan is a small town with a lot to offer the people who live in the area. It’s home to the Michigan Renaissance Festival and Mt. Holly, which offers some of the best skiing in Michigan. The Holly Dickens Festival is one of the highlights of every holiday season. Holly also has some excellent schools with Holly Area Schools.

Holly Area Schools have a reputation for putting their students on the path to academic excellence. Holly High School offers a wide variety of advanced placement programs and is acknowledged by the College Board for being one of just 367 schools in the U.S. and Canada that not only increases participation in advanced placement programs, but to also increase the percentage of students who pass their AP exams.

Holly High School is highly celebrated for their first-rate athletic teams. Not only do they have more than 20 teams to participate in, many of their teams go on to participate in regional and county championships and playoffs. Holly High’s baseball team won the Flint Metro League Championship in 2013 and the wrestling team has won three state championships in the past two years. Their football team won at the Flint Metro League Conference Championship for the first time in 2011. Athletics at Holly Area Schools are are organized by Deb Van Kuiken, who was named the 2014-2015 Athletic Director of the Year by the Michigan Interscholar Athletic Administrators Association (MIAAA).

Holly Area Schools also have some stellar performing arts programs to get involved with. Our bands are often invited to perform at events such as the Outback Bowl in Florida and during the opening and closing ceremonies of the Bulldog Brawl at Ford Field in Detroit. Students who participate in the band at Holly High School will spend the Fall season doing marching band and will perform at football games and various parades. Once marching band season is over, the high school band focuses on their concert band material and also performs as a pep band at basketball games.

If your child is more interested in academic competitions, Holly Area Schools have those, too! In fact, Holly High School’s team recently came in first place at the Flint Metro League Math/Science competition!
