Enjoy Fall Color Near Your HomeFirst™ Community
The fall season just wouldn’t be the same without a few things: pumpkins, Halloween, football games, and colorful leaves. When you live in Michigan, you’re lucky enough to live in a state that gets some truly spectacular fall color. But if you live in a HomeFirst™ manufactured housing community, you might not have to travel very far to enjoy some of it. Many of our communities are located near nature centers and other great places where you can see plenty of beautiful fall color.
Our Independence Commons community is located in Potterville, Michigan, a very short distance away from Lansing, Michigan’s capital. For a thriving urban area, Lansing has some amazing places to view some lovely foliage. The Woldumar Nature Center is open all year round and features over 5 miles of hiking trails that are bound to take you past plenty of trees that are turning lots of pretty colors.
Augusta Woods is located in Willis, not far from cities like Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. In Ann Arbor, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better place for fall color than the Nichols Arboretum at the University of Michigan. Since 1907, the Nichols Arboretum has offered one of the most spectacular landscapes in the area, full of beautiful trees and other botanical beauty. It’s a beautiful place to visit any time of year, but its fall color is truly outstanding.
English Meadows and Walnut Ridge
Our English Meadows and Walnut Ridge communities are in Jackson, not far from the Dahlem Conservancy. Taking a walk along one of their nature trails is a great way to admire some spectacular foliage. They even have a special trail that’s designed to be accessible to people who use wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers so it’s a place that’s truly accessible to everyone.
Residents of our Clinton River community, located in Mount Clemens, can get a different perspective on the fall season by taking a boat trip with the Clinton River Cruise Company. The Clinton River Cruise Company operates from May through the end of October and passengers will be taken for a ride down the river, where you’ll be able to see lots of pretty trees lining the shore during the fall months.
Meadow Creek and Riverbrook
Both our Meadow Creek and Riverbrook communities are located in New Haven, Michigan, not far away from beautiful Lake St. Clair Metropark. You can come by anytime and explore the park on your own, or you can keep an eye out for special “trackless train” tours where you can enjoy a shuttle ride through the park, showing you the best fall color the park has to offer.
When you live in our Woodland Ridge community, you’ll be right in the neighborhood of Kensington Metropark in Milford. Kensington Metropark is one of Michigan’s most popular parks and you can spend a day here walking or riding your bike along one of their trails. Or you could take a boat tour of the lake on the Island Queen II.
HomeFirst™ residents get to spend the fall season in style, enjoying all the beauty the season has to offer. Take a look at some of the manufactured homes we have for sale or for rent in our communities. We’d love to have you spend next fall with us!
