Jackson District Library

Jackson doesn’t have just one library for residents to visit, it has several! Jackson District Library has 13 branches located throughout Jackson. With so many locations, there’s always something fun and informative happening at at least one of the branches. Some of their events are things the whole family can do together, while others are aimed at kids, and others are great for adults. No matter how old you are, Jackson District Libraries will have something great to offer for you!

Ella Sharp Park

Although you can find parks in lots of other cities, Jackson’s Ella Sharp Park is truly something special! No matter what time of year you visit, you can easily spend some quality time together as a family. Ella Sharp Park covers over 550 acres right along the southwest branch of the Grand River and features an 18-hole golf course, a mini-golf course, two lighted softball fields, three football fields, playgrounds, ski trails, a disc golf course, a basketball court, a fishing area, walking trails, and much more. You’ll also be in the neighborhood of the Ella Sharp Museum, where you can see a log cabin, a one-room school house, an old-fashioned print shop and general store, and other historical buildings.

Michigan Theater

The Michigan Theater is located right in downtown Jackson. Originally built in 1930, the theater still has much of its historical beauty and charm. The Michigan Theater now hosts screenings of movies, plays, and other events. During the summer months, they host a weekly film series for children on weekday afternoons where, for just a few dollars, kids can enjoy a family-friendly film.

The Bounce Castle

Do the kids need something to do that will really burn off some energy? The Bounce Castle is located on Michigan Avenue in Jackson. The Bounce Castle has open play hours daily when kids are welcome to come in, jump, climb, and play to their heart’s content. Parents are welcome to grab a snack and relax while watching TV, reading, or catching up on their social media while their kids are playing. Your kids are sure to love living so close to a place like this!

Not only is there a lot of fun things to do as a family around Jackson, you can also have plenty of fun without even leaving the community! You’ll be able to spend summer days at the community pool, watch your kids have fun in our play areas, have a picnic in one of our picnic areas, or having fun playing on the basketball court.
