Easy Ways to Decorate Your Manufactured Home on a Budget

Everyone loves a well-designed space, but not everyone loves paying high prices to get the job done. HomeFirst™ encourages you to get creative and make the most of the space in your manufactured home! Giving your home a makeover doesn’t have to be expensive or involve taking on a major project. Here are some of our ideas to get you thinking about decorating on a budget

Canvas your Walls

Do you have a big empty wall and no ideas? Think canvases. Local art stores like Michael’s usually have sales storewide, including on things like large canvases and paint. Take one home and make your own work of art. You could do it yourself, have the kids help you create an original masterpiece, or simply paint it one solid shade for a simple pop of color to your space. Not only is this a cheap and easy way to decorate your walls, but you get an experience out of it as well! And you’ll have a completely unique addition to your home!

Take the Plates from the Table to the Wall

Do you have any dishes with nice patterns or lots of color that rarely get used, but you still want people to see it? Visit your local home improvement store like Lowes or Home Depot and pick up some sturdy hooks to frame around your plates. After a few screws into the wall, you’ll have a decorative display of those fantastic plates for everyone to see. This is perfect for a smaller wall in a kitchen or dining room!

Bedroom Budget: Fake your Headboard

Part of saving money may mean buying yourself a bed without a full headboard. If you like your bed, but don’t like how it looks, try making your own headboard for as little as $20! Simply take another canvas, or an old piece of plywood, add some paint, and stick it behind your bed for a faux headboard. Want a simpler solution? Just block out an area of your wall and paint it any color of your choosing! This creates the illusion of a headboard but is actually just a section of your bedroom wall.

No matter what room of your house, mirrors can be monumental to how your space can look. Not only do mirrors create the illusion of a bigger space, but they also allow more light to enter into your space. Even if found at your local dollar store, ever underestimate the power of a mirror.
