Community Involvement in Clinton River
When you settle down in your HomeFirst™ community, not only do you get to experience the HomeFirst™ amenities such as community swimming pools, cozy community centers, and serene neighborhoods, but you and your family also have a load of activities to check out in surrounding communities. If you live in our Clinton River manufactured housing community in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, here are just a few suggestions of things to get involved with in your neighborhood.
Yoga and Zumba
With the fitness craze sweeping the nation, getting fit and active is something you can still do this winter, even though those warm days might be coming to an end. If you’re looking for something different than our community fitness center offers, there are lots of other fitness classes you can take in the area.
The Mt. Clemens CCplus studio offers not only a variety of yoga classes, but also fitness options like Zumba and Barre classes to get your body toned and fit! Need some extra motivation? Groupon frequently offers deals to make your classes even cheaper. Since it’s so easy to find a good deal on Groupon, you might feel like trying something totally different without taking too big of a risk.
Why not take up a new sport this winter? This season, if your kids are looking for something fun to do on a regular or semi-regular basis, check out the Mount Clemens Ice Arena for not only fun family open skate opportunities, but also for activities like junior hockey leagues, figure skating classes, and general skating lessons for both children and adults. Ice skating is the perfect winter activity, and there’s something for every member of the family.
If an intellectual discussion is more up your alley than winter sports, you’ll want to check out Lifetree Cafe in downtown Mt. Clemens. This nonprofit, conversation cafe engages visitors in discussion about life, religion and other topics. If you live with an open mind, you’ll want to check this out.
Habitat for Humanity
Maybe you want to fill your free time with community service and opportunities to help others. The Mt. Clemens area has a variety of volunteer opportunities to take advantage of, one of which is the Macomb County Habitat for Humanity. With this organization, you’ll work to give back to the community you live in, renovating homes and other spaces to provide more living spaces for those in need. What better way to get in the holiday spirit than giving some of your time as a volunteer?
No matter how you decide to get involved in your surrounding community, remember you also have a friendly community environment within HomeFirst™. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for our regular community events, which are hosted in your community clubhouse. They’re a great way to meet new people in the community and make friends with your neighbors while having fun at the same time.
HomeFirst™ cares about finding you the perfect manufactured home for your lifestyle, along with a welcoming community to help you get settled in.
