Ann Arbor Marathon March 29
Get ready…get set…go! The annual Ann Arbor Marathon is coming up on March 29. The Ann Arbor Marathon is a great way to enjoy your love of running and make a difference in the community. Every year, the marathon raises money for Ann Arbor Public Schools and other non-profit organizations in the area.
If you’re not up to running a full marathon, but still enjoy running (or even walking, if you prefer), there will also be half-marathon, 10k, 5k, and kids 100 meter dash runs going on at the same time. Online registration for all races will be open until 7:00 AM on March 28 and participants can register online or by printing and mailing this form. Late registration on the day of the race will start at 6:00 AM. Registration for the marathon is $105, $85 for the half marathon, $35 for the 10k, $35 for the 5k, and $20 for the kids dash. All races start at 7:30 AM, except for the kids dash, which starts at 10:30 AM.
Although all the races have different courses, the marathon, half marathon, 10k, and 5k races will all start at the northwest corner of the Big House and will end in downtown Ann Arbor. Visit the marathon’s website to see each race’s course.
Each race offers awards for top finishers in each age group and the top male and female runners in each race will win gift cards. All runners who finish the marathon and half marathon will get a medal and a shirt and all participants in the 10k and 5k races will get participant medals.
Not a runner? You can still be a part of the Ann Arbor Marathon by volunteering to help keep the race running (no pun intended) smoothly. Lots of volunteer opportunities are available for things like helping with registration, manning water stations, setting up food tables, and more.
If you aren’t participating in or watching the marathon, it’s important to know there will be some temporary road closures at various times. Visit the marathon’s website for a complete list of road closures and times they will be closed to avoid any surprise inconveniences.
