6 Super Important First Date Tips

It’s February, which can only mean one thing: romance is in the air! If you’re in a relationship, there’s no better time to show your loved one how much you care. If you’re on a first date, it’s a chance to connect with a new person and see if you have compatibility. While first dates can be overwhelming, they don’t have to be! Just following these 6 tips for a memorable and enjoyable first date:

Be yourself

Might as well open up with everyone’s favorite relationship advice! You don’t want to hide who you are because sooner or later the truth will come out. Plus, do you really want to be in a relationship with somebody who doesn’t appreciate you for you?

Dress Comfortably

Dress according to your own style. Don’t wear something you wouldn’t normally wear because you’re trying to impress your date. It’s important to feel comfortable and confident in your outfit.

Go to a Public Place

While your manufactured home is always a great venue for a date, going to a public place may also be beneficial. Being surrounded by others, whether it’s at a restaurant or movie theater, can take some of the pressure off.

Conversation Starters

The last thing you want on a first date is awkward silence. Prepare a few mental conversation starters in case the dialogue dries up. Popular conversation starters include interests, hobbies, work and travel aspirations.

Ask Questions

The primary goal of your first date should be to learn more about the person across the table and determine if you’re a good match. You can’t do that if you’re only talking about yourself! Ask questions about the other person to show that you’re an attentive listener and unselfish conversationalist.

Put Away Your Phone

It’s rude to chat on your mobile phone during any date, but it’s especially bad on your first date. Using your phone will almost always make your date feel uncomfortable, as it signals that you’re bored and disinterested.
