5 Ways to Celebrate Spring in South Lyon
The sun is out, the snow is gone, and the days are still getting longer. It’s a great time to live in Michigan, and we want to help you make the most of this beautiful weather! Over the last few weeks, we’ve been sharing our favorite outdoor activities near every HomeFirstTM Certified Community.
Today we wrap up the series by taking a look at Woodland Ridge. Here are our favorite things to do in and around this South Lyon manufactured home community.
South Lyon is one of the unofficial golf capitals of Michigan. Just a few miles from Woodland Ridge are several amazing golf courses, including like Moose Ridge Golf Course, Tanglewood Golf Club and Cattails Golf Club. Grab a few friends, play 18 holes, and see if you can conquer these fun and challenging courses.
South Lyon has a very charming downtown. Hop on your bike and see for yourself what the city has to offer. You can catch a movie at The Lyon or visit Witch’s Hat Depot Museum. After you’ve worked up an appetite, grab some fresh-baked pizza and pasta at Aleko’s, or enjoy a frosty beer at Witch’s Hat Brewing Company.
South Lyon is a short distance from several lakes that are great for cooling down and even fishing. The water is still pretty cold after that brutal winter, but when it warms up in the next month or so, check out Ten Mile Lake, Monahan Lake and Tobin Lake. All three are good for fishing, and of course, cooling down on a hot afternoon.
Hop in Your Car
When you need a break from the local scene just hop in the car, as South Lyon is halfway between Brightonand Ann Arbor. Both cities have a lot to offer in terms of outdoor recreation. From shopping and dining to other attractions, it might be worth the short 20-minute drive to either city.
Home is Where the Fun is
Stick around your community and enjoy the many recreational facilities in your backyard. From a basketball court and swimming pool, to inline skating rink and recreational areas, Woodland Ridge has much to offer in the way of amenities. We know one thing for sure: you won’t run out of things to do this spring!
