5 Ways to Celebrate Spring in New Haven

The sun is out, the snow is gone, and the days are still getting longer. It’s a great time to live in Michigan, and we want to help you make the most of this beautiful weather! Over the next few weeks, we’re going to share our favorite outdoor activities near every HomeFirst Certified Community.

Today we take a look at Meadow Creek and Riverbrook. Here are our favorite things to do in and around these New Haven manufactured home communities.

Fish Your Wish

Grab your fishing pole and head over to Lake St. Clair, just a few minutes south of New Haven. According to this website, “Lake St. Clair is a world-class fishery for walleye, small mouth bass, muskie, and panfish. If your preference is for trout and salmon, the St Clair River and north channel are the places to be.”

Water Works

With a total surface area of about 430 square miles, Lake St. Clair is overflowing with fun. If angling isn’t your cup of tea, there’s still plenty to do on the water. From boating to swimming, New Haven’s proximity to Lake St. Clair and other bodies of water creates endless opportunities for warm weather recreation.

Take a Stroll

Downtown New Haven is always a good time. Wander down Main Street and see what kind of fun you stumble upon. You can enjoy family dinner at a fun restaurant like Louie’s Family Dining or New Haven Coney Island. Or, you can stop at New Haven Park and have some family fun. It’s always an adventure in New Haven.

Nothing beats playing 18 holes on a beautiful golf course. Or better yet, 36! Located in New Haven, Oak Ridge Golf Club is a public golf course consisting of 36 holes. It has a complete practice facility including a driving range with target greens, sand bunker and putting green. Grab a few friends and enjoy a spectacular day soaking up the sun and sinking impressive shots.

Community Chilling

Stick around your community and enjoy the many recreational facilities in your backyard. From basketball courts and swimming pools, to playgrounds and recreational areas, Meadow Creek and Riverbrook have much to offer in the way of amenities. We’re sure you’ll find plenty to keep you entertained during the next beautiful spring day.
