5 Ways to Celebrate Spring in Belleville

5 Ways to Celebrate Spring in Belleville

The sun is out, the snow is gone, and the days are still getting longer. It’s a great time to live in Michigan, and we want to help you make the most of this beautiful weather! Over the next few weeks, we’re going to share our favorite outdoor activities near every HomeFirstTM Certified Community.

We start the 9-part series in Augusta Woods. Here are our favorite things to do in and around this Belleville manufactured home community.

Shop in Ann Arbor

Did you know Belleville is less than 20 miles from Ann Arbor, nationally ranked as one of the coolest cities in the entire county? Ann Arbor is not only home to the University of Michigan, but also some of the best shopping in the state. Take a stroll down Main Street and enjoy original shops and eateries, or stop by the farmer’s market and pick up some fresh produce.

Fish Your Wish

Grab your fishing pole and head over to Belleville Lake. This 2-square-mile body of water is great for catching walleye, catfish, crappie and bass. What better way to spend a perfect spring day than fishing with friends or family?

Bike Through Belleville

Take a bike ride from Augusta Woods to Downtown Belleville and spend the day in your home city. Grab dinner at Bayou Grill or Lunch Box, both located on Main Street. On your way back, stop for dessert at Frosty Boy.

Yo, Ypsi!

The University of Michigan isn’t the only major college in the Belleville area. Eastern Michigan is located in Ypsilanti, less than 10 miles away. Talk a walk around campus and revel in the charm of this eclectic college community.

Chill in Your Community

Variety is nice, but who are we kidding? If you’re an Augusta Woods resident, the best way to spend a spring day is right in your community. From our outdoor swimming pool with sun deck, to basketball court and picnic areas, all of our recreational facilities are open for business! Grab some friends and neighbors and soak in the sun right from your backyard.
