It feels like just yesterday that we “fell back” during daylight savings time and got an extra hour in our day. But believe it or not, this Sunday is once again daylight savings time. And instead of getting an extra hour, we get to “spring forward” an hour, which means that we lose an hour in our day.

The reason we have daylight savings time is to make better use of daylight. This way we have more light in the evenings and can fit more into our days. Although we aren’t technically getting an extra hour on top of our 24 hour day, at least we have the ability to get more done with the sun out!

So our reminder for you: Saturday, March 10, 2012, in the evening, turn your clock forward an hour. Officially we are to switch our clocks at 2 a.m. the day of daylight savings time, but it really doesn’t make a difference if you choose to do so before bedtime.
